Our Commitment to Copyright Protection

At DailySeek, we are dedicated to fostering a creative environment where originality thrives. We strictly prohibit copyright infringement and the use of pirated material on our platform. Any content found to violate copyright laws will be promptly removed, ensuring a fair and lawful space for all creators.

We aim to educate our community about copyright laws, empowering creators to protect their work while building a supportive audience. If you have concerns about copyright, please reach out to us at support@dailyseek.in.

Understanding Copyright Infringement

Copyright infringement occurs when someone uses a copyrighted work without permission from the rights holder. Examples of infringement on DailySeek include:

  • Posting someone else's copyrighted work without their legal consent.
  • Sharing content on behalf of another creator, even with credit, without their explicit permission.
  • Creating adaptations or derivative works—such as rewriting events, changing names, or altering perspectives—without authorization.
  • Using images or media you do not own, including for covers, unless they are in the public domain.

What Copyright Protects

Copyright protects the tangible expression of an idea, such as a written story, artwork, or video, but not the idea itself. This means similar themes, plots, or titles do not necessarily constitute infringement. For content to be removed, there must be clear evidence of copyright violation that would hold up in a court of law. If you suspect infringement but lack evidence, we recommend contacting the creator directly to resolve the issue or seeking legal advice.

How We Handle Copyright Infringement

We take copyright violations seriously. Users are prohibited from posting content they do not own unless they have legal permission from the rights holder, backed by verifiable evidence. Upon discovery or report of infringing content:

  • Published works are removed immediately.
  • Unpublished works require a DMCA takedown request from the owner, after which we act swiftly to remove the content.

For repeat infringers, we reserve the right to terminate accounts, linking violations to the account holder, not the account itself.

Protecting Your Work on DailySeek

With millions of uploads daily, protecting your work is a priority for us. Here’s how we safeguard your content:

  • Automatic Protection: Your work is protected under copyright law the moment it’s created in a fixed form (e.g., written or recorded).
  • Copy/Paste Restrictions: We disable copy/paste functions to prevent easy copying of your work.
  • DMCA Compliance: If your work is copied improperly, you can submit a DMCA Takedown Request, and we’ll respond promptly.
  • Copyright Options: When posting, you can choose from various licensing options, including All Rights Reserved, Public Domain, or Creative Commons (detailed below).

For maximum protection, we recommend registering your work with your country’s copyright office. Additionally, always save your original works outside of DailySeek, as we cannot restore or transfer content in the event of account closure due to policy violations.

Copyright Licensing Options

DailySeek offers several licensing options to help you control how your work is used. Choose the one that best suits your needs:

Retain full control over your work, including rights to distribution, performance, and derivative creations. Others may still use your content in limited ways, such as for reviews or fanart, under fair use provisions.

Also known as "No Rights Reserved," this option allows anyone to use your work for any purpose—such as printing, selling, or adapting it into other formats—without restriction. By selecting this, you relinquish all copyrights.

Creative Commons licenses allow you to retain some rights while granting the public certain permissions, such as translating your work or creating adaptations. Options include Attribution [CC BY], Share Alike [CC BY-SA], No Derivative [CC BY-ND], and Non-Commercial [CC BY-NC]. Learn more at Creative Commons.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe your work has been copied on DailySeek or elsewhere, please contact us at support@dailyseek.in. Include details about the infringement, such as the location of the content and proof of ownership. We’ll investigate and take appropriate action.

DMCA Takedown Notices

To process a DMCA takedown request, we require your personal information as part of the legal documentation. This information is not shared with the other party and is only collected to comply with legal requirements. If you’re unable to provide this information, we cannot proceed with the request, but you may try resolving the issue directly with the user.

Third-Party Content

If potentially infringing content, such as videos, is embedded from platforms like YouTube, it’s the responsibility of that platform to handle copyright claims. Report such content to YouTube; if removed there, it will no longer function on DailySeek. However, we will remove embedded content that violates our Content Guidelines.
